ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, July 22 (PIA) –Several PWD groups of Rizal province received financial grants from the Department of Labor and Employment in time for the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week.
DOLE-Rizal led by OIC Engr. Mercedes Delgado turned over P130,100 to the Women with Disabilities Leap to Social and Economic Progress Inc. in order to boost the organization’s dishwashing liquid production.
Another P44,000 grant was also given to the Visually Impaired Brotherhood for Excellent Services Inc. to help fund their training advanced massage focusing on spine alignment for the back (scoliosis, lumbar problems and slipped disks).
According to VIBES President Dante Tiosan the planned two-day training will benefit 48 male and female blind masseurs to be trained also by a blind licensed massage therapist. Tiosan said that the initially trained blind people will then echo and train other members of VIBES.
“We are very thankful for the funding for our advanced massage training. Because of this we can easily implement and equip more PWD practitioners simultaneously,” Tiosan said.
Aside from the groups funded, DOLE-Rizal also presented nego karts worth P 18,000 each together with starter packs for fishball business to two deaf mute Beneficiaries from Taytay, Rizal. (GG-PIA4A)
