ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, June 28 (PIA) — A total of 1,990 elementary students across the province of Rizal have benefited in the “Isang Pulis, Isang Lapis” school supplies distribution project spearheaded by the Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO).
The project was launched on June 4 at Inuman Elementary School in Barangay Inarawan and was simultaneously held at the different police stations in the province’s lone city and 13 municipalities.
Police Sr. Supt. Rolando Anduyan of Rizal PPO said the program targeted elementary school students who cannot afford to buy basic school supplies.
According to Anduyan, the local police officers donated money to fund the purchase of schools supplies such as ballpens, pencils, crayons, notebooks, and papers.
Earlier, each police station was tasked to identify less fortunate school children who are also earners for their respective families, as priority recipients for the project.
The PNP Rizal headquarters personnel distributed school supplies to 375 students; the Antipolo City Police Station to 70 students; Angono Municipal Police Station (MPS) personnel to 60 students; Baras MPS to 53 students; Binangonan MPS to 100 students; Cainta MPS to 200 students; Cardona MPS to 120 students; Jalajala MPS to 120 students; Morong MPS to 15 students; Pililia MPS to 50 students; Rodriguez MPS to 400 students; San Mateo MPS to 150 students; Taytay MPS to 200 students; Tanay MPS to 62 students; and Teresa MPS to 15 students.
