ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, June 24 (PIA) — A total of 989 recipients of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) in the province of Rizal were awarded certificates and salaries by Rizal Governor Jun Ynares recently.
The students were employed with the assistance of the local government units (LGUs) in the province and in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the lead government agency in the implementation of SPES.
The students were taught the rudiments of public service and governance for 22-30 working days and each received a salary of P3,366.98 to P7,363.62 respectively.
Rizal public employment service office (PESO) federation president Cecilia Diaz said her office is very much delighted that SPES program continues to attract students to enroll in the program, adding the laudable program gives students the chance to learn the basics of public service and governance and at the same time providing them the financial assistance needed in their studies.
“We are truly grateful to DOLE for coming out of this laudable program,” Governor Ynares said. “To the LGUs and the students, rest assured that the provincial government will back you up in all your noble undertakings.” (Rizal PIO/PIA-Rizal)
