ANTIPOLO CITY, Mar. 25 (PIA) — The Rizal Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) with key government agencies and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) are all set for this year’s Lenten season “Lakbay Alalay”.
According to the PDRRMC, they have engaged in a series of meetings with the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs), PRC and other government offices for its full implementation.
Lakbay Alalay will begin on Wednesday, March 27 which will involve a traffic re-routing scheme in heavily affected areas as LDRRMCs, in coordination with PNP, AFP, PRC and NGOs, will be putting up booths in strategic locations.
Around 3 million people are expected to visit the Antipolo Cathedral for the traditional pilgrimage while thousands of devotees are also anticipated to flock Regina Rica, Tanay, Rizal. As such, the PNP and AFP are currently requesting for augmentations from higher authorities to prepare for the influx of devotees. (Rizal-PDRRMC/CPG/GG/PIA-4A)
