ANTIPOLO CITY, Mar. 25 (PIA) — The Cardona municipal government and local law enforcers are geared up for the influx of devotees for the upcoming Lenten season.
Cardona Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Erwin Dionisio said the LGU has already coordinated with the local Philippine National police and Bureau of Fire Protection offices and barangay officials to participate in the upcoming Lakbay Alalay operations for Holy Week.
In line with this, Cardona Emergency Response Teams (CERT) will be deployed throughout the town in order to assist devotees 24/7 starting March 27. CERTs are also prepared to guide lost travellers and administer first aid treatment for those who will experience headaches, fatigue and high blood pressure.
The local BFP and PNP will also be on heightened alert to ensure fast response and law enforcement.
The MDRRMO is anticipating 5,000 to 10,000 devotees to pass or visit the Our Lady of Manaoag Shrine in the town. (Cardona MDRRMO/CPG/GG/PIA-4A)
