PNP 4A chief commends Rizal PPO for anti-firearm & wanted persons campaign

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Feb. 21 (PIA) — Philippine National Police (PNP)-Calabarzon Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Benito Estipona commended the Rizal Provincial Police for its efforts against loose firearms and arrest of most wanted persons in the province.

In a ceremony, Regional Director Estipona awarded the Medalya ng Papuri/PNP Commedation Medal to six Jalajala police officers, nine San Mateo police officers and 28 Morong police officers for the recent arrests of most wanted persons Ronnel Montenendo (Jalajala MWP No. 8), Jhun Codilla (San Mateo MWP No. 6) and Arthur Mansonia (Morong MWP No. 4) at the Rizal Provincial Police Office, Hilltop, Taytay, Rizal this February 21.

Rizal PPO also successfully confiscated 190 loose firearms from the police stations in the office: 15 from the Antipolo City Police Station; 18 from Angono; 22 from Binangonan; 33 from San Mateo; 7 from Tanay; 17 from the Rizal PPO; 5 from Jalajala; 3 from Teresa; 9 from Pililia; 16 from Cainta; 2 from Rodriguez; 33 from Taytay; 6 from Morong; 2 from Baras and; 2 from Cardona.

Regional Director Estipona emphasized the police force’s focus on apprehending armed groups and criminal gangs, arrest of most wanted persons, recovery of loose firearms and intensified measures on criminality especially on illegal drugs.

The director also called for the local police to ensure public safety on the upcoming elections. “We believe that the lesser firearms there are in the streets, the safer the community,” Estipona said. (CPG/GG/PIA4A)
