DTI-Rizal holds investment forum on ‘pangasius fish’

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Feb. 21 (PIA) — Seventy one participants attended the half-day investment opportunity forum on pangasius organized by Department of Trade and Industry-Rizal Provincial Office in coordination with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-National Inland Fisheries Technology Center (BFAR-NIFTC), local government of Rizal, Pangasius Industry Association of Rizal (PIAR), and Vitarich Corporation onFebruary 15 at the Rizal Provincial Capitol.

This Forum called, “From Fingerlings to Fillet – Traversing the Way of Pangasius Production and Processing,” aims to expose fishers, entrepreneurs, and investors to the opportunities of pangasius production and processing and encourage them to engage in profitable ventures as alternative sources of income.

Former Governor Rebecca Ynares gave the inspirational message to this event. Other resource speakers included DTI Director Mercedes Parreño, Romy Pol of BFAR-NIFTC, Orlando Rico, PIAR President and Roland Danque of Vitarich Corporation.

Pol presented a briefer on pangasius and on its technology while Rico introduced the PIAR as newly organized pangasius industry association.

As new partner of Rizal in the promotion and development of pangasius, Vitarich Corporation presented their programs and interventions for the growers and investors in this industry.

According to Parreño, this Forum was one of the activities and interventions to promote and development Pangasius Industry in Rizal Province. (DTI-Rizal/CPG/GG-PIA 4A)
