Hiring and promotion allowed before March 29 – CSC Rizal

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Jan 31 (PIA) — Civil Service Commission (CSC)-Rizal Director Jacinto Mateo III reminds local government units (LGUs) and national government agencies (NGAs) in the province that hiring of new personnel and promotions will be temporarily banned starting March 29 in line with the 2013 elections.

The policy will be upheld in the CSC’s observance of the Commission on Elections’ Omnibus Election Code which prevents hiring and promotions which may influence the upcoming election. “All government offices even the Office of the President will be affected by the election ban.” Director Mateo said.

“An earlier election ban was also implemented last January 13 which affects transfers and reassignments. LGU and NGA personnel will only be allowed to be transferred and reassigned prior to the initial ban,” Director Mateo added.

However, exemptions may be made if an LGU or NGA files a request at the COMELEC. Hiring and promotion of public employees will resume after June 30. (GG-PIA4A)
