ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Jan. 25 (PIA) — Public markets in Rizal are about to get a boost.
The office of Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero said P500,000 each will be allocated for the repair, rehabilitation, renovation and construction of public markets of the province’s 13 municipalities and one city for a total of P7 million.
The funds will come from Escudero’s Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) and will be downloaded to the local government units for implementation.
A series of Senate Bills passed by the senator also aim for the establishment of five additional branches of regional trial courts in Morong, two in San Mateo, one in Binangonan and 15 in Antipolo City with an additional municipal trial court branch.
Aside from Rizal, other LGUs in Calabarzon are also set to receive P500,000 each for their public markets.
A total of P10.5 million for Cavite, P14 million for Laguna, P17 million for Batangas and P20.5 million for Quezon have also been allocated for their public markets. (GGPIA-4A/PIA4A/Office of Senator Escudero)
