ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Dec 18 (PIA) — The Civil Service Commission revealed that April 14, 2013 is the date for the next career eligibility exams.
CSC regional and provincial field offices such as Rizal province have already been accepting applications for both the professional and sub-professional careers service examinations (CSE) starting November 19, 2012 until February 28, 2013.
However, CSC also reiterated that acceptance of applications will be in a first-come, first-served basis. Due to this, applications submitted before the deadline may not be accepted if the target number of examinees has already been reached by the CSC regional and field offices.
Applicants must be a Filipino citizen at least 18 years of age during the date of application, of good moral character, must not have been convicted of an offense or crime involving disgraceful or immoral conduct, dishonesty, examination irregularity, drunkenness, or addiction to drugs, must not be dishonorably discharged from military service or dismissed for cause in any civilian position in the government and must not have taken the same level of CS Examinations in the less than three months.
Requirements include a fully accomplished application form, four identical passport sized photos with, an examination fee of P500 and an original and photocopy of any valid ID containing applicant’s clear picture, date of birth, signature and signature of the authorized head of the issuing agency.
According to the CSC, the ID pictures must be taken within 3 months prior to filing of application, colored with white background, printed on good quality photo paper, in standard close up shot, without eyeglasses or accessories covering facial features, showing left and right ears, taken in full face directly facing the camera with neutral expression and with full and handwritten (non computer generated) name tag. Valid IDs accepted by the CSC include Driver’s License, SSS ID, GSIS ID, Philhealth ID, current Company/Office ID, current School ID, Postal ID, BIR ID, Barangay ID, Voter’s ID, Valid Passport, or Police Clearance. Application forms are available at any CSC regional/field offices nationwide.
Upon successful application, examinees will be notified of their places of examination through an application receipt of notice of assignment. The Online Notice School Assignment may also be used 2 weeks before the examination day. However, applicants who still do not know their school assignment or cannot access the ONSA may inquire from the local CSC office.
The subprofessional exam’s coverage includes questions in English and Filipino and subjects such as vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, spelling, clerical operations, and numerical reasoning. The professional level exam coverage also includes questions in English and Filipino, vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic, and numerical reasoning. However, the passing grade for CSE in both the pro and sub-pro levels is a general rating of at least 80.00.
CSC-Rizal Senior Personnel Specialist Sophia Hernandez also elaborated the specifications of the sub-professional and professional levels. According to Hernandez, the sub pro level is appropriate for first level positions in the career service such as clerical,trades, crafts and custodial service positions which involve non-professional/sub-professional work in a non- supervisory or supervisory capacity while the professional level involves professional, technical or scientific work in a non-supervisory or supervisory capacity.
