ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Jan 14 (PIA) — The Antipolo City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) Central Command and Communication Center, is being constructed.
The four-storey building will include an rescue operation information office, parking for the emergency dispatch vehicles, the office of the Antipolo City Civil Defense, equipment for the earthquake and flood warning devices, CCTV monitoring, and radio communication room, equipment for rain gauges and the CDRRMO operation center.
The new command center will be the first in Rizal province and will improve emergency response operations of all types and complexities.
“The construction of the Antipolo City Central Command and Communication Center goes to show quality services to residents of Antipolo. This is the first structure of its kind to be built in Rizal province and it serves as a model which other towns could follow,” said Joey Marco, OIC of CDRRMO and president of the Philippine Association of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers.
The CDDRMO has been a recipient of the Seal of Disaster Preparedness. City Ordinance No. 2012-513 was also enacted adopting the organizational structure and staffing pattern recognizing the need to institutionalize disaster preparedness and risk management to ensure protection, safety and security of everyone living in the City of Antipolo especially during calamities.
