ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, November 28 (PIA)— Cardona, Rizal is set to celebrate its Kaluskos Festival this December.
The municipality holds the Kaluskos Festival annually in order to preserve the tradition of creating artistically crafted bamboo arches made from bamboo wood which are abundant in the town.
The name of the festival involves stems from the ‘kuskos’ sound made by a bolo on bamboo. During the festival, locals showcase and display the arches as a symbol of the community’s ability to cope with life’s changes by being pliant, proud and tall and strong like the bamboos.
