ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Oct 1 (PIA) — Antipolo City’s newly commissioned Philippine National Police (PNP) officers headed by P/Supt. Rodino Elfa and Insp. Noland Nario have paid a courtesy call to Antipolo City Mayor Nilo Leyble.
The new police officers are a welcome addition to augment the present manpower considering the city’s area of 38,000 hectares and a population of 700,000.
Order and public safety is one of the priority programs under the local government’s nine-point agenda.
The mayor reminded the newly installed police officers of the importance of their role, as well as their duties and responsibilities.
“I hope that you will not tarnish the name of the Philippine National Police (PNP) by being abusive, arrogant and irresponsible. You are expected to follow the laws that you yourselves are to enforce. Also, as police officers you should be neutral in performing your duties and not let your name be linked criminal activities. Let us work together to maintain the peace and order of our city and earn the respect of the community by acting professionally,” said Leyble.
During the courtesy call, the importance of providing additional equipment to deter criminal elements such as a closed-circuit television (CCTV), additional patrol cars and firearms was also discussed.
“As police officers we acknowledge your continued support to our Antipolo PNP and at the same time thankful that you provide the necessary equipment in our duty as law enforcers. We assure you that we will do our best in the prevention of crime and maintain peace and order in our city,” said Elfa.
The Antipolo PNP is also tasked to work and coordinate with the city disaster risk reduction and management office (CDRRMO) in performing rescue operations and other disaster related matters. (Antipolo PIO/CPG/GG/PIA 4A-Rizal)
