ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Oct 5 (PIA) — Hundreds of teachers from both public and private schools in the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of Antipolo gathered in celebration of World Teacher’s day at the Ynares Center, Antipolo City, Rizal this October 4.
Teachers and several students from the schools division of Antipolo highlighted the celebration through a raffle draw, fun games, and cheer dance competition.
The program also included several inspirational talks from the Department of Education (DepEd) 4A Director Lorna Dino, DepEd Antipolo City Schools Division Superintendent Norma Maalindog, Antipolo City Representative Romeo Acop, Mayor Danilo Leyble, and Rizal Governor Jun Ynares III.
The teachers of Antipolo City also offered flowers to Director Dino and Superintendent Maalindog as a sign of gratitude.
Rep. Acop, Mayor Leyble and Governor Ynares’ messages all focused on the importance of teachers in the lives of their students as well as society. Both Acop and Leyble expressed utmost gratitude to their former mentors while Gov. Ynares said during his speech that of all the professions known to society, only teachers have been assigned an international celebration (World Teachers’ Day) comparable to Fathers’ Day or Mothers’ Day due to the educators’ similar roles to parents.
