ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Oct. 25 (PIA) — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Rizal will be opening a satellite office along the Upper Marikina River Basin within the year.
A Project Management Office will be opened and inaugurated at Barangay Pintong Bukawe, San Mateo, Rizal to monitor the Upper Marikina River Basin, which is a protected area based on Proclamation No. 296 of 2011 by President Aquino, said DENR-Rizal Planning Officer Marlyn Paonil.
The DENR Central Office provided P 1.5 million for its construction.
The Project Management Office will be supervised by the DENR Rizal Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Raymundo Crisostomo, who serves as its protected area supervisor.
Aside from the Upper Marikina River Basin, other protected areas include the Kaliwa Watershed and Pamitinan Watershed. (CPG/GG-PIA4A)
