ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Sept 11 — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) held an exhibitor campaign briefing last September 5 for next year’s International Food Exhibition Philippines (IFEX-Philippines).
Twenty companies were briefed on the preparation for IFEX 2013 and the benefits of joining the international marketing event. Rizal food processors and producers through the Samahan ng mga Rizaleño sa sektor ng Agrikultura at Pagkain (Sarap) and representatives from partner-agencies such as the Department of Science and Technology, city government of Antipolo and the University of Rizal System also attended the briefing.
According to DTI-Rizal Provincial Director Mercedes Parreño, IFEX Philippines is one of the effective export promotional platforms for Rizal’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). She encouraged these food companies to join IFEX as well as other DTI-organized trade fairs.
A series of seminars and training will also be conducted for Rizal food MSMEs to prepare them for IFEX 2013.
The international fair, to be held on May 16-19, 2013 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City is organized by DTI-CITEM in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service. (DTI Rizal/CPG/GG,PIA4A)
